While they’re obviously hyping it up as a huge deal for Spotify, it is interesting to get the inside take on where the company sees Blend as a whole. In its blog post announcing Blend’s proper launch, Spotify interviewed a few of its employees to get their take on their feature. See also Pokemon Go What Are Cooperative Raids What Spotify’s Saying About Blend Similar to other Spotify playlists, Blends are updated daily and adapt “based on what listeners stream.” There’s new cover art for Blend playlists, a ‘taste match score’ indicates how someone’s listening habits compare to their friends, and two people in a Blend can now share social media-friendly stories with information about each other’s music tastes. As part of the official launch, however, parts of Spotify Blend are now better than ever. The core experience is mostly the same: two users join a Blend, Spotify analyzes what they listen to, and it generates a playlist with that information. Nearly three months later, Spotify has removed the ‘beta’ moniker and launched Spotify Blend as a fully-featured part of the app. There have been a couple of bumps in the road given that it’s been a beta test, but the overall reception has been quite positive. It allowed two Spotify users to combine their listening preferences and create a personal playlist based on each person’s taste. This past July, Spotify decided to take that element a step further with the Blend beta. Whether it be the deep integration with Facebook or the endless ways to share Spotify links on social media, Spotify has never felt like a lonely place. Compared to Apple Music, Amazon Music, or anything else, Spotify feels like a much more interactive service. One of the many strengths Spotify’s touted over its competitors is the social element.
